My years of freelancing experience has taught me that the key to having a successful project is to have good communication and a well-defined process. I want my clients to feel confident that their project is in good hands. I make sure that they are always up-to-date on the work’s current status, and I’m quick to respond to any messages or phone calls. Below is a summary of the steps involved in a typical custom design project.
First, you fill out a project planner questionnaire and compile an inspiration board of images, fonts, patterns, etc. that you find appealing and that you believe visually represents the overall look and feel you want for your brand. Then, when it’s time to start your project, we will chat over any other details before I begin designing so that I have the best possible understanding of your personal preferences.
Turnaround times depend on what all is included in a project. As a reference, the average timeline for branding + web design is 5-8 weeks. Because I often have projects scheduled in advance, it is critical that projects currently in progress remain on schedule. Therefore, clients will be expected to provide timely feedback on any design drafts. Failure to do so may result in delays or the project needing to be rescheduled altogether.
At project’s end, the client is invoiced for the final payment. Once received, all graphic files and their printing/usage rights are released and web sites are launched. Finally, a phone call is arranged to address any last questions and for me to provide training, should the client feel it’s needed. I pride myself on offering an extremely high level of personalized service to my clients. Because of this, I only commission a select number of projects at any given time.
